Why did the cops show up at such an uncivilized hour? If he were alive, it would be an alarming hassle, and if he were dead, who cares when the got there? Dead is dead. Your mom probably did that just to stick it to you. Tell her you've put down a deposit for her on the shittiest nursing home in a 100-mile radius. Payback's a bitch.

What is it with mothers and calling the cops? I had tonsillitis a few months ago and my mom was afraid I was going to die, so when I fell asleep one afternoon and didn't answer her call she called the cops to come and make sure I wasn't "bleeding to death on the bathroom door".
