Today, whilst buckling up for my 7 hour flight to NYC, I got a text from my boyfriend saying he crashed his mum's car. Before I could reply we were told to put our phones on airplane mode. I'm gone for a week with no mode or means of contact... FML

What part of NYC will leave you without the use of your phone?

Why? Are phones illegal in NYC? Or maybe there's a massive, invisible Faraday Cage surrounding the city. What about going old school, and sending a fax? How about going even more old school, and sending snail mail? You could possibly go super old school, and get in contact via Morse Code telegraph? And going mega old school with cave paintings, or hieroglyphics, or smoke signals, could also work.

I'm British - my phone contract wasn't transferable to the US and at the time the phone I was using wasn't internet compatible
