Today we found a kitten with broken legs on our front door so we took it to the one and only shelter in the city that is half an hour away. Just as we came back, we found another cat vomiting blood and breathing heavily in the parking lot. It was 5:47, the shelter closes at 6pm. FML

go find the monster abusing these amazing animals and abuse them 10x worse!

Uh. That's signs that someone is engaging in animal abuse, which is the bigger problem. Sounds like you've got someone- maybe kids or teenagers- torturing animals for fun. I'd work toward getting that ruled out. Also, if you call ahead, they might be willing to have a vet stay past shift to intake the new animal.
