Today, it's my birthday. My mom decided to wake me up by having our new, previously stray, cat thrown on top of me. I was awoken to two claws ripping across my face which needed 16 stitches to fix. Happy Birthday. FML

My cousin once did something similar by waking me up by putting their cat on top of me. I still to this day have a long scar all the way down my side from that.

Today, my dad refused to believe that the Animal Planet's mermaid mockumentaries were faked. Instead he got into a huge argument with me, claiming the government is covering up the existence of mermaids and must've threatened the producers to keep it quiet. FML

Today, I got up at 2:30 a.m. to catch an early flight home. I was tired and drowsy and took a quick shower to wake me up. Two minutes in, the water turned scalding hot on all settings. I ended up having to rinse my hair with bottles of sparkling water from the hotel minibar. FML

Today, my boss, who was in a heated dispute with a difficult employee, called me via our office chat program to deal with him. The program interrupts whatever you do, making it the priority window. I was in a chat with another colleague, making my response that they both saw, "I have many bullets to spare!" FML
