Also, some people CAN text without looking at their phones. Others might have the text to speech tool, like I have on my phone. Hands on the wheel, eyes on the road, I just tell my phone what to type and say "send message now". It'd probably be just as easy to use a hands free headset to talk on the phone, but I like the idea of talk-texting.

What could be so important that it can't wait?What's wrong with just driving? Not trying to be judgemental- at least you do seem to try to be safe. However, I'm sure you probably feel the same as me about people who drink or get high and drive and say they are better drivers when they are messed up. Completely ridiculous. Too many innocent people at risk for people's selfish whims.

#44 Conversing with the passenger(s), stereo functions, hands-free phone conversation, voice to text messaging etc. all require attention. Unless you drive in complete silence and keep both hands on the wheel at all times, you can't give your undivided attention to the road. Even then, you could be doing all this and be thinking about ******* a banana. Your mind wanders... your eyes shouldn't.

How is that any different than talking to someone that's in the car? Are you suggesting that people shouldn't talk to other people in the car because the driver is focused on the other person instead of the road?

Oh how I can rant on this subject... You deserve it! I can't STAND people who text or talk on their phones while driving! Mostly because we've had a couple of little kids in the area where I live who've been killed by inattentive drivers who were texting or talking on their phones. I've seen people in up in ditches by my house because the downhill road was wet and they were going too fast and also texting at the same time. HANG UP AND DRIVE BITCH!

@BlargHonk You obviously didn't see the other part of my comment. If my hands are on the wheel, and my eyes are on the road, then I'm curious about your reasons for hating me. If they're still the same, meaning you still hate me because even though I'm speaking the words to my phone, it's still "texting", then remember that next time you sing along with a song on the radio, or talk to the person in your passenger seat.

Assumption failure! I try not to drive with the radio on, except sometimes NPR. I also don't make phone calls or text while I drive. Remember not to make assumptions. It makes an "ass" out of "u" and "mption". Also, there IS a reply feature on the app. I'm posting this from my phone. So you're basically wrong all around.

i was about to reply with that. ironic much? not only does she text about the accident she has seen, thus causing another disruption. she then follows this all up by posting an FML from her mobile phone about the rear-ending she got while she was texting a friend about the accident on the road. WHAT THE ****?!
