Today, I poured my heart out into what had to be my greatest set of lyrics for my band ever, at the same time my teacher was explaining chemical changes to the class. At the end of the lecture he picked up my paper, and set it on fire to demonstrate a chemical change. FML

I am a teacher. Even if a student is not paying attention in class, I would never take their piece of paper away and set it on fire. Tell them to put it away, yes. Confiscate it for the rest of the period, yes. But destroying something of a student's is completely disrespectful. Some might argue that it's disrespectful to do other work during class, and I'd agree. However, the teacher shouldn't have taken that harsh of a measure to discipline him. Being a teacher doesn't give you license to be a bitch.

OK, first off, your teacher is an ass. You can argue with me on this, but most teachers should at least give fair warning before confiscating something, unless they've dealt with it before in that class and everyone should know well enough not to work on anything else. In that case, YDI. Actually, YDI all around. First off, I get that everybody doesn't pay attention, and you drift off. That happens. Maybe a song came to you when you were writing notes. So FML for losing the song, but you should be able to remember it. But even if you get bored, you always make an effort to pay attention. And I also have to add some YDI because the lyrics were the best ones ever. They may have been amazing, but please, please don't say they were the greatest set of kyrics for your band. I'm not saying you said they were the greatest, but please don't brag aboput it. And laso, you knew what the teahcer was talking about. You can't do that unless you pay attention. YDI.

I am too lazy to read any other comments, but from what little I read it seems like all the YDIs are addressing the fact that you're not paying attention in class. Well I take shit for notes, never study and I still ace classes, you can pay attention to a lecture and retain stuff without taking notes that make sense to anyone else. Thus FYL.

you're probably 15 right? pay attention in school and maybe you'll actually make something of yourself, because there is a 99% chance no one will ever care about your band, and you are going to need a job.

YDI. Pay attention in class, you should've written that on your own time. Besides, it won't be hard to remember the gist of the lyrics, and the rest will just come to you. :/
