Today, I found out my roomie has lost her only source of income. This means I'm responsible for all the bills and the rent. I would kick her out and get someone else, but she's my mother. FML

First off, the OP just said that the very reason they're NOT kicking her out is because she's their mother. Secondly, stfu, because the parents decide to have the baby, not the child, AND they have less taxes

I think it's time to kick mommy to the curb. Especially if you are over the age of 25. You are probably single as well huh?

Id still make her pay, especially for all the times she grounded me

Wow why not kick her out I mean just say I'm sorry but if you can not help with rent then you will have to move out... But if you think about it she did take care of you after all these years

Some people have parents that are dead beats... In that case kicking her out is a good idea. It doesn't state if that is true or not but still.

I wonder if your mom would think the same thing if the situation is reversed! food for thought.

More than likely ops Mom does not like the situation any better than op. Nothing hurts the old ego like loss of wages. You should actually take her out to dinner to cheer her up. Unless she was fired for gross misconduct she will get unemployment.

Not all mothers are saints. You have no idea what kind of relationship (if there was a relationship!) the OP had with his/her mother during childhood.

just buy a parrot and teach it to say to your mom: "get a job" after a long time she MIGHT try to find a job or just kick her out anyway
