Today, I filed my taxes. As a divorcée with children, I was supposed to get $3,500 back from the IRS. Alas, my ex's new wife already filed with my children, who don't live with her. I now owe the IRS $250. FML

Since they don't live with her, that's fraud.

You should talk to a CPA, you don't necessarily have to speak to a lawyer. I had a fraud issue on my husbands W9 and my CPA filed paperwork against his employer and straightened it out. Hope everything works out!
