Today, I confronted my friend about the £260 he owes me. He got offended and said, "Friends don't have to pay back." He called me selfish and walked off. FML

When you get your money back I wouldn't talk to that "friend" again if I were you, OP.

Be careful who you loan money too... Some friends may seem sincere, but there are many selfish people out there. Still hope your friend decides to do the right thing OP!

Maybe there's a British version of Judge Judy.

It's called Judge Rinder, it's fab :) alternatively, Jeremy Kyle

money can ruin a great friendship. that's why I never lend a friend money. I will give them money if they need it and if they pay it back sweet but I never lend money for that very reason.

Exactly! I never lend anyone anything that could make me possibly question the friendship if not related.

This guy doesn't sound like a friend, he sounds like a piece of shit.

It happens to me too. I owed her one time and I had to pay. When she owed me money she pulled the best friends don't have to pay crap.

best £260 you ever spent. now you know not to give him a dime ever again.

Next time you tell people there's lending institutions for that kind of stuff, and friends do pay each other back or else you don't have friends for a very long and it sounds like your friend not only cheated you but use your friendship to his and his alone benefit

Never give someone money you can't afford to lose. I would hope your friendship is worth more than 300 bucks.

Not a friend you must know already.I say Take legal action if he/she doesn't budge on the situation

Except that the legal fees would add up to more that the 260. I would agree if it was something like 2600 but it's too small of an amount to take legal action.

Op I have one rule in life don't lend or borrow money
