Today, after two weeks of being grounded, I was finally let out of the house by my mom. I had to call her at 1am asking her to come get me, because I got so drunk, I told my ride to leave without me. I'm grounded again after less than a day of freedom. FML

Tasha_1996 tells us more.

Hello everyone. I didn't know my FML got posted until now. This was more to express what an idiot I am than to be told I'm an idiot. For people asking questions, I'm 16 and live in Saskatchewan. A small town where there's **** all to do. There is nothing wrong with my mothers parenting, I respect her for coming to get me and grounding me. I was grounded for another month after this happened and am going to addictions councelling starting the New year. I was out last night, first night off of grounding again and didn't have a sip of alcohol. Originally, I wasn't going to comment. But I figured you guys deserved an update. Yes I deserved it.

If you're old enough to still be grounded, you're not old enough to drink. Ydi.

Grounding is usually to teach you a lesson and not be bad. She probably thought you learnt your lesson but, clap clap, you proved her wrong.

Well, you're a ******* idiot. Why would you do that? Your parents finally decide to trust you a bit and you go behind their backs and get drunk. You are probably the most ungrateful kid ever.

YDI for being a complete jackass. Learn to take some responsibility for your own actions.

Well, OP aren't you the little masochist? You were punished for two weeks,(probably for good reason) will most likely will be punished again for your current events and now posting this on FML to have everyone tell you you're a dum-dum and most definitely deserve us all to scream YOU DESERVE IT! Are you looking for that "Strange Love" because Yes, pain, I will return it, I'll say it again pain!:P

you deserved the Shit out of this.

grounded? freedom ? so your parents are prison guards ?.wrong! you're a walking liability . they responsible for your actions....even if you think you're not

You've got nobody else but yourself to blame.

Maybe you were expecting some kind of sitcom experience where every thing turns out ok. In the real world ( not Jersey Shore) when you do stupid things like this there are consequences for your actions. PS. Your when your parents brought you home from the hospital they didn't look down and say "oh look honey we have a drunk idiot to raise"

Americans and British people act like if you drink before 21 you will go to hell. The result is that as soon as they hit 21, they over do it because they grow up with an immature attitude toward it. Read up on the Mediterranean attitude toward alcohol and you'll see what I mean.

Except in Britain you can drink at 18... I do agree with you though, my parents never banned me from drinking and I've never developed any interest in it at all. I think many people do it as rebellion...

On the other hand, if you drink and party before you're 21, you're cool, but if you do it after you're 21, you're a loser. Lowering the drinking age may lead to not just high school and college kids drinking, but more middle school kids drinking too. Not that I disagree with you. Just playing the devil's advocate here.

The mediterrainian attitude I believe is less a legal age and more that parents don't make a huge deal over "you may never ever drink til youre 18/21!!" which a lot of kids see as a must try the forbidden fruit thing... and are more likely to get totally drunk because they are rebelling. Whereas if your parents are more open to letting you try things (my parents gave me little sips of drinks to try) you won't see alcohol as a tool of rebellion and are less likely to go out and get wasted.

Yeah I see what you mean. I think it's more of a cultural thing. Where I'm from, any kid can just walk into a supermarket/kiosk and buy beer. I know it might seem shocking to you, but that's how things are here and yet you never see kids getting drunk.
