Today, my brother and sister-in-law uninvited my family from their Disney Cruise because I told them that my daughter is not going to babysit their kids. I don't know how to tell my kids that we're no longer going. They're going to be so devastated. FML

Today, I surprised my 10-year-old nephew with an invitation to my family's upcoming Disney Cruise for his birthday, since he previously said he wanted to go. He said no. He'd "changed his mind." The ticket is nonrefundable. FML

Today, my parents asked me if I was sure I didn't want to join them on a family trip tomorrow with my sister. I was never invited, and unlike the rest of the family, I have a full-time job where I can't just take days off with no warning. This is how they announce most "family trips" to me. FML

Today, I found out that my family has paid for and booked a trip to Dubai without me. They weren't going to tell me until they were about to board but since I was crying that my friend ditched me for my holiday, they thought they would let me know. FML

Today, my future sister-in-law cancelled my invitation to her and my brother's wedding. Her reason was that I was incredibly rude to announce my pregnancy to my family at a time like this, because it took all the attention away from her. FML

Today, after telling my husband how excited I am to be going on a family trip without nieces/nephews because it meant our children will finally bond with each other, his mother took it upon herself to invite our nephew on our trip without asking us. I’m mad at her and my husband is mad at me for being mad at her. FML

Today, I was told I'm not invited to my best friend's birthday party. Apparently, being divorced and childless doesn't "mesh" well with the rest of the group. My parents are still watching her kids so she can go away for the weekend. FML

you should've waited till you were on the boat to tell them so then it would be too late for them to do anything about it. if you've paid for your tickets then go anyway because you don't need their permission. oh, send them nice big traffic finger salute from me.

Sounds like there was plenty of room for negotiation. I understand that older children might want some time for themselves, but parents need time to themselves on vacation too. Since you're not paying your kids full cost, and your kids definitely aren't paying their full costs, if they're old enough to babysit, they are old enough to contribute to the family. Stop playing the victim. Your brother was gifting your kids a Disney cruise, and all they had to do was entertain their cousins for a while, and you screwed it up.

Did they discuss the conditions with the three of you beforehand? Did your daughter SAY she did not want to babysit, and would rather give up a free Disney Cruise than babysit? Just asking.
