Today, I was walking to my mailbox when I fell down and couldn't get up. My neighbor walked by with his dog, took one look at me struggling, said, "What is wrong with kids these days, drunk at 9 a.m.?" and continued on. I couldn't get up because I'm still healing from a stress fracture in my hip. FML

Today, I fell down the stairs and landed heavily on my foot. Because I wasn't crying, my mom refused to take me to the hospital. It took me an hour of agony to convince her. It turned out to be broken in three different places. FML

Today, I fell down the stairs and broke my leg. My dad helped me to the car so he could drive me to the hospital, but when he saw our neighbor, he went over and had a 15 minute screaming match with him over how his dog keeps shitting on our lawn, all while I sat in the car in agony. FML

Today, I laced up my fabulous new boots and walked outside to find my hot neighbor, with whom I carpool every morning. I struck a pose, feeling quite confident. Upon taking my first step down the stairs, I fell forward. I woke up an hour later with 7 stitches in my head. FML

Today, I was drunk and broke my leg. I called 911, only for the cops to turn up and make me try to walk, with them saying that I was faking my injury. They arrested me for being drunk in public and hours later I finally got to an ER. I had to have surgery on my leg. FML

Today, as I was walking home, I felt my feet slip out from under me and I face-planted in the slushy, dirty, melting snow. I rolled over, completely soaked, and attempted to get up, thinking no one saw me. A mail-man then passed me without offering to help, and said, "I've seen worse." FML

I hate ageism. The media portrays it as discrimination against old people, but it goes both ways. I'm 27 and going back to college, and I've found a lot of people are jerks because they think all college students are in frats or sororities, all partiers, all disrespectful and loud and obnoxious... I'm none of those things, I'm a quiet responsible adult who just wants to further her education. But ignorant people cling to their small-minded stereotypes... That's why I get so annoyed when I see young people acting dumb, I think to myself "great, thanks guys, keep giving everyone else a bad name..." I'm sorry your neighbor was such a jerk, hope you were able to get some help.

Dude your neighbour is an arse. Someone kind enough should have seen that (and being a neighbour I'm guessing he would know about the hip) put two and two together and help you- or just see someone struggling and help anyway even if they don't know. I can see how you couldn't explain at the time what had happened as well because its painful as hell and you're probably in too much pain to say anything but call for help. Plus if your neighbour just walked off then he's not going to suddenly stop and wait for you to explain the whole hip thing. But seriously, what an arse- you should get back at him.
