Today, I got the letter from the IRS that would FINALLY enable me to get the tax return I was supposed to get two weeks ago because they needed to confirm my identity. I logged on, entered the information, and was told that I would get my return… after "up to 9 weeks for processing." I need to pay bills NOW. FML

Today, I got a letter from the IRS informing me that I owed a debt of $80 dollars from 4 years ago, and that it has now grown to over $800 dollars, and it's due this month. FML

Today, I've been waiting for over a year now to get my 2019 tax refund. I did mess up and underreported 2 grand initially. I resent everything as soon as I realized what I'd done, and I'm expecting a nice chunk of change and can't file my 2020 taxes until this is sorted. FML

Today, I finally was able to complete my taxes and I had a look at the IRS website to check my refund. They changed it from 1K to $10. FML

Today, after waiting 7 months to get my amended tax return refund, I was informed today that not only did they mail it to the wrong address, the person who they mailed it to cashed the check. FML

Today, I sat down to do my taxes. As I was going over my forms, I found my employer only took $1.72 out the entire year for my Federal Income Taxes. I now owe the IRS over $500 that I don't have. FML

Today, I woke up to find both of my bank accounts frozen. My bank informed me that the IRS had ordered a freeze on my assets because of back taxes owed, and would not unfreeze them until the money is paid. The amount? $2.47. FML

I get it but tax returns are not for bills, that's not income. next year have less withholding and you'll have that money ahead of time

Many years ago when I had to go to an IRS office to confirm my identity. I had to bring every form of identity I had, driver's license, School id, social security card and birth certificate plus I also brought some bills that had my name on it and address.
