Content almost refused by staff

Today, while working as a cashier, a woman tried to force a huge bucket through the rotating lane. It got wedged underneath the counter with the cash register and pulled everything out and onto the ground. The register is smashed and I have to pay for all the damages. FML

I don't think that is legal... I'd suggest getting some legal counsel because most businesses are required to have insurance for damages caused by customers- which this most certainly was.

Yeah, you need to get legal counsel. They shouldn't be making you pay for something a customer broke.

Do not pay it! I can see if it was your fault, but it sounds like this was obviously an idiot customer. It's not your fault and you are not legally responsible.
