Today, I spent well over an hour waiting for customer service to assist me with my forgotten password, only to realize, 5 minutes into the conversation, that I had never created an account in the first place. FML

So you're one of those people on Not Always Right.

This is just a case of bad user experience. If you'd never created an account and tried signing in, it should have prompted you saying, this email is not registered with us. There would be no need of calling the customer service at all.
