Today, I got excited when my phone vibrated because I thought someone actually wanted to talk to me. When I grabbed my phone, I realized my mind had played a trick on me and I only thought it vibrated. I'm so lonely, I subconsciously trick myself into thinking I have friends. FML

Today, my mum had no legitimate reason to have her daily yell at me, so she resorted to bitching me out for putting her phone on charge after it started beeping with a low battery warning. FML

Today, I downloaded an application that notifies me when my phone is fully charged. I had no idea how it actually functions, but I plugged the charger in and went to bed. A couple of hours later, I woke up to a man's voice screaming, "I can't take it anymore!" I nearly wet myself. FML

Today, the power went out at work. As everyone left the building to go home, the owner came in to inform me that, since the phones were on a battery back up, I would be staying to man them. The phones rang 2 times in the 4 hours I sat in the dark by myself. Both times were telemarketers. FML

Today, I was visiting my new in-laws for the first time. During an awkward silence, I took my phone and figured I'd send my friend a text jokingly saying "Mayday, mayday! Somebody save me!" My mood lightened up a little and I felt quite well until my mother-in-law's phone beeped. Yep. FML

I haven't got a call or text for months but I'm not complaining. I'm happy about it because, of the 2 people that aren't my family that have my phone number, one is bossy, opinionated and controlling and the other is manipulative and i am better off without them :)

Wow, #38, FYL...I don't define myself by the people around me but if only two people have your number and they're both people you don't want to be around, that sounds lonely. OP - Your life, on the other hand, is a different story. One day, and it's an FML?? This is an especially facepalm-worthy gripe if you've been chatting over some form of IM lately, or seen people in person. Personally, I'd love to go a day without a call!
