Unfortunately, seeing them was inevitable. I'm trying not to get involved, but needless to say, it's difficult. Apparently, my mother is going to tell my step-dad, but she's a liar sometimes. One step at a time, I suppose.

Hard to say what to do in that situation. But I think you should bring the shame down on your parents, especially if your stepdad is actually a good man that doesn't deserve this.
That is awkward in so many ways.
Well, it's better than your step-dad cheating on your mum with your biological dad.
