Today, as of now, I am approximately $80,000 in student loan debt. Monthly payments exceed the ability to move out of my parents' house. Welcome to American adulthood. FML.

Wow.. you commenters are harsh.. OP is starting his life with an 80.000 dollar debt and you don't even pause to blame him to the full extent. Have you ever stopped to consider that it wasn't horribly negligent planning on OP's part but a tiny bit of misfortune with a pinch of shit economy and a dash of not being the next boy wonder? Of course planning your entire college around a full-time job and a degree in a highly desired field is smart, but not everybody is able to do that because of personal limitations and maybe other dreams in life.. Feel free to take off your judgement cap every once in a while and see the world as more than personal failures.

If you pay even as little as $5/month, they won't come after you about it.

Even if it isn't all his fault, not saying it is, op could have prevented this with some much needed life planning

Life doesn't always follow your plans.

I'm in the same boat as you. I feel your pain.
