Alexa, play "You made me realise" by My Bloody Valentine

Today, my now ex-boyfriend called me out after I spelt "realised" with an S instead of a Z. It wouldn't have been so bad, if we weren't both British, if he hadn't called me an "illiterate idiot", and if he hadn't muttered "family of morons" when my mum backed me up. FML

It's so annoying when people are arrogant and rude on top of being blatantly wrong...

Well in Australia we tend to use English rather than American spelling and it's definitely an "s" that I was taught. My daughter's children's dictionary has "BRIT also realise". The bottom line is that you're better off having that arrogant douchebag as an ex- rather than a current-boyfriend!

I see it spelled both ways. That's rude and ridiculous. Sorry op.

At least he did not ask how your bathroom scale can covert £ to KG "when the exchange rate is constantly changing".

The £ symbol only represents the currency, not the unit to f weight. Just pointing it out - forgive my pedantry

*spelled. "Spelt" is a word but not the correct one for this context.

Many people do that no matter where they're from but he's a real jerk!

Your bf is right, since you're clearly still dating him.

YDI for using "spely." That is a grain, not the past tense of "spelled".

I think he was dropped more them once as a baby.. but enjoy the peace and quiet with the mouth of moron gone :)
