Today, I called the cops on this guy who kept emailing me without revealing who he was. I had told him that if he emailed me again, I would call the cops, so I did. Turns out it was my roommate. FML

You should have just blocked their email or have it sent to the junk mail folder.

Were the emails threatening? If not, it probably wasn't worth calling the cops :/

You deserved it for calling the cops over something so stupid. They have more important things to do. You should have just blocked it or tracked the IP address to save yourself the embarrassment.

You did not need the cops involved. You can always put in your spam folder or blocked him if he was emailing you too often.

In your country cops are needed to press SPAM button in email?

Calling the cops seems a little unnecessary.

I think you over reacted. It is just an email...come on! The Human Resources division of most companies receives hundreds of "unwanted emails" from job seekers. Going by your logic, the HR should be calling the police everyday...

You did well, OP. No one has the right to harass you. I hope you can find another roommate!

What made you feel threatened by emails?

excellent idea I think you did the right thing
