Today, I called the cops on this guy who kept emailing me without revealing who he was. I had told him that if he emailed me again, I would call the cops, so I did. Turns out it was my roommate. FML

Were the emails threatening? If not, it probably wasn't worth calling the cops :/

I feel like the deciding factor between whether this is an FML or YDI is if the emails were threatening or not.

I'm guessing they were -- or at the very least, they were unsettlingly creepy. I don't think anyone in their right mind would call the cops over a couple of non-threatening anonymous emails. The roommate probably used their knowledge of what OP was doing at any particular time to play a mean-spirited prank and make it look like someone was stalking OP. I think that's justifiable grounds to call the cops in that situation.
