Today, while DJing at a jumpin' wedding reception, my speaker system conked out. I hadn't brought any backup equipment, and 500 guests had the unfortunate luxury of dancing to the sounds of a portable CD player someone brought in from their car. FML

if I were you OP, I would give them their money back for their inconvenience...then save up to buy some nice, quality equipment...

Always think ahead, always prepare for if/when things go wrong. Sucks for them but I can't be a jerk, it happens to all of us. I'm a photographer and I forgot my extra camera battery and my camera died during a shoot. Made me always double check from then on. Better luck next time.

Being prepared? A crime against Murphy's law. Book em' Dan-o!

You should always be prepared. You should give them at least half their money back

He should give all of the money back. It wasn't even his portable cd player that "saved the day".

For their inconvenience, they should have made you start singing. It probably would have been ok until you got to "We Are Family" and "Macarena".

I've never met anyone who could sing all the correct lyrics to macarena so he might just end up mumbling half of it haha

eleneguneraelemacarinaeleneneguleneellemacarineellenengullendjsp EH MACARENA!

Lesson learned hopefully. Its going to cost you a lot of disparage

Who in their right mind says something like disparage??

Who in their wrong mind even says something like disparage ??

Did you have to give them their money back?

Just tell them that was your "planned" theme: A night in the past.

Something I learned from the Boy Scouts... Be prepared!

WhoaItsKiernan 4

I learned that from the movie Hoodwinked. "Be prepared, be prepared..."

Eff the bride and groom's life! How could you not have backup?
