You must be kidding me

Today, I received an email from a temp agency trying to hire me. Surprisingly, it was the same job I was just laid off from after two years of great employment. They were trying to hire me at half my original salary. FML

wouldn't that be a bit illegal? firing you just to pay you less? it is kinda indirect but still.

Take your job back, just work half as much and see what you can get away with.

IANAL, but I'm fairly sure that this *is* illegal in the UK, and probably in most other EU countries. If you've been made redundant, then the job has to remain closed, otherwise the job wasn't *actually* redundant. As I say, if you're within the EU, you can probably get either a wrongful dismissal case, or your old job back.

If you havent found a better Job in 2 years, take it!

Take the job, and on your first day, ******* jerk off in the watercooler.

It is illegal... the role has to be redundant for 6 months (at least). And then... it is given another job title. I would take this further. Don't put up with Corporate BS :o)

If they make you redundant from a job it is illegal for them to re-hire you for less pay. They can however legally change part of the role & the title and offer it back to you for less. **** that, would you really want to work for a company that burned you then offered you less? Time to move on!

Atleast you can get a job , But yeah that sucks ..

Plus, no benefits this time. Yay for you!
