Today, while my mother-in-law visited, I asked if she wouldn't mind watching my son for 10 minutes as I had run out of baby shampoo. I came back home to see she had shaved his head completely bald. That was his very first haircut. FML

I would be so mad if I was robbed the joy of watching my children's first haircut! I took pictures and even kept their first clippings. You can't get that moment back but I would definitely speak my mind about in-law over stepping her bounds!

I'm sorry OP that your mother-in-law needs to have her shaved, cracked open and checked for deficiencies. Kids move a lot and shaving his head was a very stupid thing for her to do.

If the hair is damaged, then new hair will grow back. If I shave my head multiple times I highly doubt that my hair will become as think and course as say an African American counterpart.
