Today, my mother told me she's disappointed in me for not going to a better college, and that if I was in the top ten of my class that the rest of those ten must be really dumb. Fact is, I threw away the acceptance letters to Carnegie Mellon and Cornell because I didn't want her to have to pay. FML

Today, my mom is obsessed with my academic success, as she was a highschool dropout, and actually gives me more homework than my school does, all so I’ll be more advanced than my peers. I barely know what a television is anymore, since it’s been so long I’ve had enough free time to watch one. FML

you have the sort of mother that tries to live through her children, because her life probably sucks so much, she pushes your sisters as hard as she can to be the best they can be but there must be something different about you (either physically or otherwise) that doesn't appeal to her pathetic, vicarious, narcissistic ego. this is the part where you tie your mother to the ceiling fan, slit her throat and watch the dust fall out.
