that's cold
Maybe they just stayed friends
I honestly see no problem with it. It's just a request, not only that but he could be really close with her. The OP could also compromise and have an ex that she's close with as a groomsman.
Some people get along fine with their exes, and don't hate them. Maybe you should just accept that?
I wouldn't have a problem with it if my bf wanted his ex that he was close friends with in our wedding. Why should you say no? I'm not awkward at all when it comes to exes. I would be upset if my ex who's my best guy friend didn't invite me. Sure, not a bridesmaid if you're not close with her, but a grooms woman is perfectly acceptable.
I thought picking the bridesmaids was your job? After all, aren't the bridesmaids supposed to be the bride's close friends/female family members, and the groomsmen supposed to be the groom's close friends/male family members?
I'm hoping you've decided to be a bridesmaid at his wedding.
''If we ever get married I want it to be the most awkward, painful and humiliating process it can be for you.'' .... Is he right in the head?? He can't possibly be! FYL, OP.
Well, at least he wants to marry u... haha. Maybe it won't be as bad as you think!

I take it you're not getting married then
Tell him that that's fine, as long as you can find another groom
