Today, my girlfriend tearfully complained that I was smothering her to death with my clinginess, and that I should learn to respect her boundaries. This is after she complained I wasn't giving her enough attention. FML

Today, my girlfriend of over a year broke up with me. Two weeks ago she complained that I didn't act like I really loved her. I then became more involved and caring just for her to show my love. The reason she broke up with me? Because I was "suffocating her with clinginess." FML

Lmao I did this to my boyfriend. But I think mine made sense. He texts me too much and if I don't reply within a minute he calls me over and over until I pick up. And the attention part: me and him never go anywhere, and he never listens to me.
