That sucks OP, my dad's commander was named John Snow and whenever someone would give him shit, my dad would butt in, exclaiming "John Snow has been my commander for 3 years, I know he's knows a lot more than nothing!". I figured I'd share this anecdote in the hopes of cheering you up.
At least your name isn't Michael Jordan
don't sweat it. try having the last name Bates. jokes about the motel were tame compared to what I went through in middle school and high school. If you didn't figure it out already just let your imagination run wild.
I had a gym teacher with that last name. in high school freshman year. it included sex ed haha. also there was another faculty member with the surname Balls. unfortunate names make me okay with a third of my childhood trophies having my last name spelled wrong. there's something about Italian names and people screwing up the vowels or adding another random syllable. smh.
THE KING IN THE NORTH!! There, that's better isn't it? :)
Of course it's just a joke, but jokes get old pretty quick.
I'm sure it does get VERY annoying; but he has a point, it is just a joke. And what do you mean by "deal with your boss" telling you that? Were you expecting them to start kicking out any customer that makes the joke?
If it makes you feel any better, my name is Juliet, so I've heard Romeo jokes all my life.
Perhaps you could have your nametag changed to "John S.", "Mr. Snow", "John", or something similar depending on your job.

What do you mean you had to "deal with your boss" what do you want him/her to do, throw merchandise at the customers and tell them to leave the KING OF THE NORTH alone?
I can understand how that could get annoying but it's not the worst thing in the world. At least they're trying to be funny instead of being assholes like a lot of customers are.
