OP may have been nervous, I know I was when I took mine. I didn't get pulled over but things could have gone wrong.

This happened to me too when I was getting my learner's license. The only reason he pulled me over was to ask questions and whatnot. I don't know if that's the same reason you were pulled over but hopefully it ended alright!
