you can get herpes a number of ways that do not involve sex: it an be transmitted through saliva, breast milk , blood ,ect. you could have gotten it from your mother at birth or through exposure to her breast milk , it could have been transferred from a cold sore on your mouth when if you touched you mouth right before using the bathroom (assuming you wipe after) or masturbating
