Dude, plenty of girls have unrequited crushes. I still remember when my best friend and the guy I had a crush on in high school got together and--the real betrayal--took over my hiding place in the library to make out. I think the difference is that when this happens to a female, they are conditioned to ask "what's wrong with me?" while a guy is conditioned to ask "what's wrong with her?" Not saying it's true for every person, but it is what most of us are taught.

Most women also seem to suck it up and after the initial hurt move on. Meanwhile people like this are left throwing tantrums, crying over "the friend zone", and wondering how dare a woman could not like them back as if they deserve it for being a decent human being or friends with her.
