Today, I was talking to a cute guy at my house party and had to fart. Luckily, it was silent. Unluckily, he smelled it, thought my house had a gas leak, and ran to the basement to check the pipes and ensure our safety. FML

Today, my nearly ex-husband called in a panic so I could come rescue the dogs, because he'd called 911 due to a gas leak at the house. I came over, after which the fire department and gas company took a look, and they found the issue. The dog. The dog had farted so bad, it smelled like rotten eggs, and was mistaken for a gas leak. FML

Today, the gas company came to connect our stove for free. While here, they broke our hot water heater, shut it off, and issued us a hazard notice. We can fix it, but they won't be able to come back for another two weeks to turn the gas back on. We don't have any hot water until then. FML

Today, I found out that a water pipe at my work had burst over the weekend. There is absolutely no water in the building, including the bathrooms. It's a 9-hour day, and I took a laxative this morning before I came in. FML

Today, I had a terrible stomach ache and had some pretty bad gas at work. I tried to head down to the basement for a while to allow my coworkers to continue in peace. About an hour after I came back up, my boss called pest control due to the horrible smell that "must be dead rats". FML

Today, there was a gas leak at work. We called the fire department, who advised us to evacuate the building. We called our manager to let her know, and her response was "Oh, don’t do that." My boss would rather let us die of carbon monoxide exposure than lose out on 3 hours of work. FML

Gas has a very distinct odor. The odor is added as it's generally odorless. Fats contain several different kinds of bacteria giving the "methane" you're expelling a smelly/yuck/I smell. Your fellow co-workers must be on the lower-end of the IQ scale there buddy. I think you have more problems than worrying about gas leaks

Actually, the chemicals the gas company puts into the methane/ethane mixture (which is odorless) are mercaptans which are also present in the shit. It is possible that farts smell similar to the “stinkum” the gas company uses.

I would believe that someone smelled you fart, and then made a joke, like, "ha-ha, we should call the gas company to check for a leak!" and that was the end of that. I don't believe this actually happened. I have a frienconstantlylexaggeratingng about things that happened to him, until ihis headadherehe believes it, and the next thing he is doing is telling people a ludicrous story that he created. You sound like that.
