Today, I was sitting in the hospital waiting area. An old lady was crying, and my five year-old daughter asked her, "Are you okay?" The woman quietly nodded, prompting my daughter to scream at the top of her lungs, "Well shut up then!" FML

Pretty sure that kids at that age would learn that kind of behavior from experience. 10-1 odds mom/dad has said the exact same to her when she's been crying. YDI

YDI for not easing your kid properly. Shut up is rude and should be considered a swear word at her age. It's a shame she was never taught compassion.
