Being a nineteen year old guy myself, I think I'd find a get-up like that rather amusing on my girlfriend, too. xD The definition of "spicing things up" isn't only-and-nothing-else "to dress up in a costume." I don't think it's weird that I don't find sexed-up animals attractive.
