Today, I learned that there is a limit to being thrifty. For example buying a pan from the dollar store is most likely going to cost a lot more than a few dollars. Especially when it melts all over your stove which you now have to replace. FML

Today, my mom came over for dinner. She lost her mind, screaming and yelling, because my oven melted the dollar store cooking dish that she insisted on using. Never mind the fact I’m going to have to pay a couple hundred, if not a thousand dollars for a new stove. Oh no, she’s out a whole buck. FML

Today, I learned that just because the actual part of the pan that does touch the stove isn't hot doesn't mean that the handle won't give you third degree burns, a broken nose from passing out from the pain, and an expensive trip to the emergency room. FML

Today, I was telling my friend how much I love my 20-year-old kitchen scale, because it has this one handy function that even new ones don’t have. Later, my mom melted it on the stove and isn’t even convinced she should buy me a new one. FML

Today, in an attempt to be frugal, I tried to repair my own sometimes-faulty toaster. Turns out I unplugged the wrong kitchen appliance, which I only discovered by electrocuting myself while pulling it apart. Now it's definitely broken, will need replacing, and I have a burn. FML

Today, I learned that the new granite countertop in my parents' house cost $12,000. Coincidentally, this is also the amount of money I would have needed to go to the college of my dreams instead of the cheaper school I currently attend. FML

Today, I was in a hurry to get something out of the oven, so I quickly grabbed my roommate's only oven mitt and grabbed the pan in the oven. It didn't take long to figure out there was a hole in it when my thumb hit the hot pan. FML

wow some people are being really mean. try calling the company and telling them their pan killed your oven. perhaps they'll cover the repair/ new oven costs.

Sounds like the pan was made out of plastic. A metal pan wouldn't melt (unless you were using a magnesium pan, in which case melting would be the least of your worries). Either the pan was a toy, or it wasn't actually a pan; in either case, it was clearly never meant to be used as a regular frying pan.

why dont u just re-melt the plastic off the stove instead of spending a couple hundred dollars buy a torch and burn it off itll stink for a little bit but take it outside first if u dont want the smell in your house.

How does OP deserve it! Do the math. I have twenty dollars and I dont gey ANY money unil two weeks later! I can: A: Spend that 20 on a fancy pan with big name label and now have no food, Or B: Spend three dollars on a pan and then I can have food to store and leftovers to survive on until I get paid again! So no OP does NOT deserve that! OP SUE that company or ask for compensation then SUE!!!

Wow.... U deserved it, unless you're 4 years old, because at that age u wouldn't understand why things are so cheap in that store.... But shame on your parents for letting a 4 year old use the stove!!
