Today, while at work at a small Microsoft partner company, I had to write an email explaining why Internet Explorer is superior to Google Chrome. FML

Good luck with that!! Seems like you have a lot of lying to do...

Does this mean I should upgrade from AOL?

"Internet Explorer is superior to Google Chrome because reasons."

Why Explorer? couldn't you have at least written about edge?

"Dear Moron, Open up a web page in Internet Explorer. Now, as soon as it loads, open up the same page in Google Chrome. Not done yet? Keep waiting... Might want to go grab a beer while you wait... Still not done yet? Oh look, it's not responding... Now try Google Chrome. Thanks, Internet Browser Enlightener"

Internet Explorer is actually really good on Windows 10. I use chrome tho hahaha

The one advantage Internet Explorer has is that it doesn't block outdated or insecure APIs. For example if you use Topaz Signature pads to sign documents in a web portal you can't use Chrome as Chrome will block the API due to security issues. Internet Explorer doesn't care about security, so you can use it. There you go the one advantage of Internet Explorer.

IE10 is going unsupported soon. IE11 will be the only supported browser. By default these insecure sites are blocked in IE11, but it can be overridden in the advanced security settings. Therefore that's not a good example to use to promote IE. A good example would be native policy management and integration into AD environments, where third party browsers require third party policies integrated into your environment and it takes more work to deploy and configure the client. That's about the only thing IE is good for. - PC Mustard Race

Insecure websites will be blocked, but the API is dependent upon the hardware (i.e. a signature pad) not the website itself. We are already on IE11, and we will never use Edge as it does block the API. However excellent point about AD integration and ease of group policy usage. Also nice shout-out to one of my favorite sub-reddits.

I'm sorry your job makes you lie.

It's excellent at allowing drive-by downloads to infect your systems with malware, thereby guaranteeing the need for a Windows Reinstallation, usually at great cost to the system owner.
