Well you can't think of it like that. If you hadn't gone, maybe you would have lost your job. While you won't make up for it that day, the money you make at your job over time will more than make up for it. I'm assuming that you paid for the cab with money you made from the job previously. Also, you might want to look into alternative methods of getting to work other than cabs. They're extremely overpriced and unless you're planning on quitting, the situation will probably arise again.
