OP, I am in no way a professional in this, but maybe try to bring up how your former friend treated you to your crush, hopefully protecting them from abuse, and a little more pettily, a slot to be with your crush

Today, I was just released from hospital after a heart attack. As a 37 year-old woman with healthy habits and no family history of heart issues, the doctors have no idea why it happened.
