Today, I complained to my two roommates about housework not being done. They both put their hands over their ears and started screaming at the top of their voice. They do this pretty much whenever I say anything to them. FML

Doesn't usually work. I've done it before and all that happened was my roommates made more messes on top of the old mess. Sometimes it's easier to just clean up, even if it's their mess. Thus, solution here is new roommates.

Sounds like you're enabling them. Lock your clean dishes in your room and refuse to wash any more and either 1)don't tidy common areas 2) tidy but dump all the shit in their room 3) tidy but dump all their shit in the trash (whether it's a magazine, clothing or an iPad)... They'll soon learn >:-)

try annoying them until they agree to help out. play justin beiber on full volume at all times of the day. or like a previous comment get a metal pot and bang a spoon around in it and refuse to stop until they start doing what they're supposed to do.

Try inviting them to an event...especially the day rent is due...they'll miss out and be short on rent money...they don't seem to listen anyway
