Today, after working all week on a group project, I realized I forgot to submit the assignment and missed the deadline. I now have to tell my group that we automatically failed. FML

lax52389 tells us more.

FYI it was an honest mistake and the paper was only turned in 8 minutes late...after some frantic talks with my teacher she agreed not to penalize my group and just deduct points from me. Lesson learned!!

Through what stroke of genius did the group put you in charge of the final submission?

It's good training for the real world. When a boss gives you a deadline for an assignment or project, a couple days late just doesn't cut it. If it's not ready on time enjoy the unemployment line.

precisely! People might not like to admit it and call the teacher a bitch or something but the point is that your boss can be a way bigger bitch then a teacher. It is the teacher's job to teach us lessons to make it in the real world.

YDI. As stressful as stuff can be you need to try and remember better. Set reminders or alarms on your phone. Or sticky notes. Lesson learned I hope!

This is why I don't like group projects.

YDI but YDI to the other group members for not making sure it got submitted.

Things like that happen - you must have felt horrible.. you aren't the first one OP don't worry - and you did the right thing!

There is a special place in hell reserved for people who screw everyone else with their incompetence.

I blame the entire group for not keeping up on things and bugging you into submission because lawdy I been harassed by my mates lots

Just commit hara-kiri. They'll understand and you won't have to face them. It's a win-win!
