Today, I misread a message that said they needed someone to volunteer for an event. Since the message was from my committee senior, I read the volunteer part and said yes. I missed the "and host it" part so now I have to give a speech in front of all the senior professors and the guests. FML

Today, I "answered" an email instead of "forwarding" it. As a result, there is a chance that my Master's thesis supervisor gets a message from me starting by the F-word, and complaining about my bad work and inability to understand a deadline. FML

just tell the senior that you were happy to volunteer and clicked yes before you saw the host it part. then tell them you have a fear of public speaking, like a real phobia, and you unfortunately can't do that part but would be happy to do anything else to help.
