Today, my mom found out that I’ve been faking my exam grades, turning my 30s to 80s and 40s to 90s on the paper exams. She got access to my online student portal and saw my real grades. I'm grounded for the rest of the school year. FML

Today, I ran into one of my teachers from high school. When I told her I'd just recently graduated college and was starting graduate school in the fall, she said, "You don't have to lie, some people just aren't cut out for college. There's no shame." I wasn't lying, I graduated with honors too. FML

Today, I told my mother I was doing fine with my classes when I actually wasn't because her mother is dying, and I didn't want her to have more things to stress about. She found out and she's very hurt. I feel awful about it and I know lying wasn't the right thing to do, but in the moment I didn't want to cause her any more pain. FML

Did...did your mom never ever look at your report cards or progress reports? Notice you weren’t getting any awards for honor roll? She just took your word for it? And you just lied through your teeth for three years? On the one hand Jesus Christ YDI, but on the other hand your mom definitely had a part in this.

Sounds like you might just go to community College for a year or 2. They don't care about GPA and are generally affordable.

I can understand hiding it for one year, but if you knew, and didn't bother fixing it for the next two years, that shit is on you. You have one year left, so grow up and sort yourself out before you end up as a 20-something high school senior.
