I've heard that in some states there is a limit on how many cats/dogs a person can have....sounds like she's 10 over the limit...either way- all that urine produces a chemical vapor that is harmful to everyone...she needs mental help, not a boyfriend who's willing to die with her as a result of all the poison in the air from that much cat urine...call your local humane society & ask what to do & if they can do something about this.

I own 22 cats myself. And 12 dogs. They were all rescues, most with physiological and behavioral problems who couldn't possibly be adopted otherwise. Also, I'm a vet, so I assure you all they're healthy, clean and the place is cleaned thoroughly daily. We're not aware of OP's girlfriend's situation, so we shouldn't go around assuming she's a hoarder and the place is filthy just because lots of animals live there.

Each cat is the result of a break up. It started out with one cat. Then two. Then three...Then seventeen.
