at my job, the switch is done online and a manager accepts it, it becomes the coworkers responsibility, you are no longer liable for that shift, sorry fyl
In those cases you should always confirm with your boss that the colleague is taking your shift before it happens. Leave a note on his desk or call him or something. Don't just assume the other person won't f you over.
Why in the world would you have your phone on while taking the test? Not a smart move. ydi
If you didn't answer it, you shouldn't have failed unless you actually were a shitty driver.
Turn your phone off next time... And explain your situation to your boss
