Going on a plane trip to visit someone costs more than just he cost of the ticket, no matter how cheaply you travel. A concert is just a concert, no extra costs.

Maybe she just couldn't afford both. As a huge fan of live music, I would choose a concert over visiting a friend ANY DAY. Bands only tour every once in awhile, so when an opportunity arises to go see them, you go. End of story.

Maybe you're a selfish bitch. If there was a concert you really, really wanted to see in your neighborhood versus the cost of a plane ticket to go do nothing with your friend I'm SURE you'd go to the concert instead, too.
