Today, I volunteered to be my brother's designated driver. I told him throughout the night that I wasn't drinking, but he ended up leaving me at the bar and going to his friend's house in a cab for more drinks, taking my keys along with him. FML

Today, my brother was going to get some drinks for a party we were going to. After getting the drinks, he ended up leaving me at home while he went and got drunk like never before. FML

Why would you give him the keys if you were the DD? Even if he just wanted something out of the car, I wouldn't let him go by himself in case he drives off or you know...takes off with them and leaves you stranded.

If ur the designated driver shouldnt u of had the keys? I dont get the point of being the designated driver if ur gunna just let him walk around with the keys he coulda took off driving instead of in the cab

YDI for giving your keys to your drunk brother. And you should never volunteer to be the DD. You'll be sober and have watch all the inebriated fools stumble around like idiots and probably puke on everything, including your car.
