Today, my boyfriend's mother asked him when we were going to have kids. I already have a daughter from a previous marriage, and that pregnancy was traumatic, nearly ending in my death. Not to mention that due to depression and anxiety, I have put on an unhealthy amount of weight, making pregnancy higher risk. FML

Unfortunately that’s often the reaction of an older adult parent. But it really doesn’t matter what they want or imagine. Having children or not is a very personal decision that is entirely up to the couple and no one else.

I'm assuming/hoping your boyfriend is aware of this, and that you will more than likely never have kids, and that he explained this to his mother. It's not her business, anyway.
