Today, it was the first sunny spring day that I had off from work. I spent the morning making a picnic lunch and took my girlfriend to a beautiful spot overlooking the lake. I did not count on a bird flying by with perfect poop aim as soon as we spread out the food. FML

Today, I was visiting my mom for Easter weekend. I rarely visit her, since she lives on the other side of the state. She spent the nicest day of the visit sick all day in bed. It wasn't food poisoning, the doctors don't know what it was, but she was fine the next day, when it was raining and much colder, so no outdoors for us. FML

Today, seasonal allergies are whooping my ass again. The last time this happened was… only two weeks ago. Even more unfortunately, today also marks the day I discovered that while hot tea does help soothe my poor, inflamed throat, if I drink too much of it without a break, I throw up. FML

Being outdoors is overrated. I'm not sure who makes the ratings, but "they" exaggerate how great it is to be outside, but conveniently omit the downsides like insects, vermin, pollen, other people, pollution, etc.

Don't let a tiny pneumonia keep you from enjoying the sunshine! Bundle up, fix yourself a nice warm mug of cold medicine, and go sit in front of your house. You can even walk around the block to watch the first tiny flowers and listen to the birdsongs.
