Today, I bought my fiancée a dress for her birthday. She accused me of saying she was fat, because I bought it in medium rather than small. After trying on the dress, she's now not only mad at me for buying it, but also because the dress fits perfectly. FML

Today, my proposal was slightly ruined when the ring I got her, which I could have sworn was the same size as other rings she owns, was a whole 3 sizes too big. She agreed to marry me but is now sulking because she thinks I think she’s fat and needs a big ring for her fat fingers. Give me a break. FML

As an example of how ridiculously non-standardized American sizes for women's clothing are, I just inventoried the sizes that I'm wearing right now: Pants: 11 Tanktop:small Button shirt: Large Panties: 6 Bra: 36B Tomorrow I could be wearing another set of clothes in completely different sizes that fit me exactly the same. OP's fiance needs to realize that the tag means absolutely nothing anymore, and that if it fits and it's pretty, she should be giving her man a kiss and a "Thank you" for being such a thoughtful guy. Women these days.
