Today, I went to withdraw 200 dollars. At the ATM, I noticed a suspicious man standing really close to me. I was nervous about entering my pin number, and worried he was looking at my account information. In my panic, I got all the way home before realizing that I'd left the cash in the machine. FML

Today, I withdrew €40 at the ATM to pay for dinner later tonight. It wasn't until I went to pay for it that I realized I'd taken the receipt, but left the cash in the ATM. FML

Today, I spotted one of my friends using the ATM outside our school's university center. I crept up behind him, grabbed his shoulders abruptly, and shouted in my best deep man-voice, "Give me all your money!" Turned out to be a poor, unsuspecting freshman. He gave me his money. FML

Today, I withdrew $120 from the ATM at the hotel I'm staying at, only to have no money come out. When I talked to the concierge, who witnessed the whole thing, she said it had been happening all day and that the machine was broken. My bank says it's the hotel's problem, and the hotel says it's the bank's problem. Either way, I'm out $120. FML

Today, as part of my becoming an adult, my dad taught me how to use an ATM. The irrational anger I suddenly felt when he told me to "Enter your PIN number into the ATM machine" is too much to be described here. FML

Today, at a self-checkout, I scanned all my items, bagged them, and left. Only when I got outside did I realize I had completely forgotten to pay. I then noticed that security was running to stop me, and I had to explain that I wasn’t a thief, just an idiot. FML

I dont know why everyone is so mean about this...sure it was a terrible mistake, but thats the point, why does she deserve to loser her money? It's not like she did a bad thing to someone....That sucks, hun. Be a little less judgmental next time

That really sucks! If you were that nervous about it, though, maybe you should have just cancelled the transaction and used a different ATM. Or certainly taken out less cash. Yikes. Why the hell was he standing so close to you if he wasn't trying to creep you out? Not cool!

you didn't deserve this, i would've done the same thing if i was nervous enough. but just think of it as being ONLY the $200, it could've been 500 or 1000, or however much you're allowed to withdraw from your account per day. it's a good thing u took your bank card too that would've been hell

You got as far as entering the pin number and even chose to withdraw cash while you were fearing for your life? If you were so nervous, why didn't you leave before you withdrew anything? You could have canceled the transaction. Failure.

Well, #45, things aren't the same everywhere! Welcome to that concept! I've never in my life used at ATM that beeped until I took the cash out. You know this is the internet, right? Where people come from lots of different places?
